Oxytocin and its link to aging

Modern science is quickly transforming from an established base of general care for the populace, to a much more individual heath focus. In other words, thanks to sophisticated analysis and personal healthcare options, minor imbalances and deficiencies present in the body which can often lead to problems can now be addressed, where before they would have been left unchecked.

Hormone imbalance is now an issue that professionals believe to be the underlying cause of many problems, which often start out small, but progress to form life-changing ailments. This is significant because it is very easy to address such an imbalance with prescriptions and supplements. The problems that are associated with hormone imbalance are extremely varied, though usually relate to psychological and emotional conditions.

What is Oxytocin?

Oxytocin is a peptide created in the brain with two primary functions; as a neurotransmitter and as a hormone. As a neurotransmitter, it serves to promote the healthy transmission of signals across synapses in the brain. As a hormone, it has many practical roles that relate to human intimacy and relationships. For example, it is important for breastfeeding and childbirth, trust between members of a social group, control of stress and anxiety, and sexual stimulation and romantic intimacy. Our emotions and feelings are ruled by our hormones and with an imbalance or a hormone deficiency, many physical and psychological problems can happen. For women over 40, the effects are even more important because of emotional awareness and menopause.

How Oxytocin influences aging

You might be wondering what this has to do with combating aging. The point is that there are a large number of studies that link stress to all kinds of illnesses, including premature aging. And the problem is worse than ever, because our brains never evolved with our modern fast-paced society in mind. As the world gets ever more technological and advanced, anxiety problems are going to increase.

Most people see stress as a nuisance, but in fact it affects the hormone balance in the body, leading to all sorts of health problems, including chest pains, headaches, loss of appetite, increased blood pressure and poor circulation, a weakened immune system leading to more colds and viruses, and muscle pains to name only a few. Another condition is premature aging, which people often notice over time when they develop long-term problems. This is due to the effects of stress, which can, for example, get in the way of healthy skin and hair reproduction.

There is hard evidence to back up these claims. In studies between two groups of women, where one group had years of higher stress due to the care of a relative or child with a disorder, the group under more stress had much shorter telomeres which are located on our chromosomes. With each cell division the telomeres get shorter, and when they get very short, the ability to divide and make new healthy cells (like skin cells) becomes limited.

A shorter telomere means the person is older, but the women under stress had telomeres that were much shorter than average for their age, and the shorter the telomere, the harder the cell finds it to make new copies of itself. So, chronic stress accelerates the aging process, and the problem is worse for people over 40 who have begun to show signs of natural aging.

Oxytocin is one highly effective option in reducing stress.

Oxytocin is the love hormone, and is very effective at reducing stress and anxiety for people who do not have the right hormone balance. This means that accelerating aging caused by stress is reduced or halted entirely when oxytocin supplements are taken.

Can Oxytocin help you?

The good news is that oxytocin is a commonly prescribed and very safe method of tackling hormone imbalance, and it is available without a prescription. It is always the right idea to speak with your physician first, especially if you have any pre-existing conditions or ailments. If you are looking for an oxytocin supplement, Oxytocin Factor is an effective and highly affordable option, and comes in either a nasal spray or sublingual drops.

It is important to note that, while oxytocin supplements help put you on the right path to recovery from anxiety and stress, the fact for most people is that there is an underlying cause for the stress in the first place, and not an inherent physical problem leading to a hormone imbalance. For these people, addressing the external problem in life is as important to help with stress and premature aging as an oxytocin supplement.
